MISSION & VISION
OUR STORY & RATIONALE
In Montréal and across Québec, many girls and women continue to face barriers to holistic wellness, confidence, leadership opportunities, economic empowerment, and culturally relevant education. From unsafe beauty practices and misinformation to limited access to mentorship, financial literacy, and supportive community spaces, these challenges can affect physical health, emotional well-being, self-worth, and the ability to thrive.
Research continues to highlight the health risks associated with certain beauty products and practices. Studies by INRS and UQAM have shown that many salon workers and beauty consumers, particularly within Black and immigrant communities, may be exposed to harmful chemicals found in some beauty products. These findings reinforce the importance of promoting informed beauty, health, and wellness choices as part of a broader approach to prevention and education.
For our Founder, Dr. Oluwanifemi Fagbohun, this mission is deeply personal.
Growing up in Nigeria, she experienced firsthand the importance of resilience, family support, and community, while also recognizing the lack of accessible, culturally relevant resources that empower girls and women to make informed decisions about their health, wellness, confidence, and personal growth. Although surrounded by the love and guidance of her mother and grandmother, much of her journey toward wholeness was navigated independently, without structured mentorship or community-based wellness education.
Today, as a mother of three daughters, her passion for creating lasting change has become even stronger. She believes every girl deserves the opportunity to grow up healthy, confident, informed, and empowered, while every woman deserves access to the knowledge, support, mentorship, and opportunities needed to thrive at every stage of life.
Niffy Wellness Foundation was established to bridge these gaps by creating safe, inclusive, and culturally relevant spaces where girls and women can learn, lead, connect, and flourish. Through education, leadership development, entrepreneurship, mentorship, beauty health and safety education, holistic wellness initiatives, and meaningful community partnerships, we equip girls and women with the confidence, practical skills, and support they need to build healthier, purpose-driven, and economically empowered lives.
We believe that beauty should never come at the cost of health, confidence should never require compromise, and every girl and woman deserves the opportunity to reach her full potential. Together, we are nurturing wholeness, inspiring change, and building stronger families, communities, and future generations.
